Robert W. Bly is director of The Center for Technical Communication (CTC), a consulting fi rm. He is the author of more than 40 books, including The Six-Figure Consultant,  Selling Your Services, The Lead Generation Handbook and The Encyclopedia of Business Letters. His articles have appeared in many national publications, and he is editor of  the magazine Bits & Pieces for Salespeople, published monthly by Economics Press

Bly's helpful, have comprise the tips and hack is jam-packed with wisdom and plenty of tips to help you organize, manage your time better, cure procrastination and increase your productivity. While some of his tips are plain old common-sense information that you've probably already heard, it may well bear repeating. Just one look around your office may show you how many people have heard some of this counsel before but are still hopelessly disorganized time wasters. Bly includes pertinent data from surveys of leaders and working stiffs who feel overwhelmed by information, too many demands on their time and the constant struggle to fit 25 hours of work and real life into a 24-hour day. He also sprinkles witty and instructive quotes throughout the book.

·       and delegating or outsourcing parts of projects you fi nd boring or awful.

·       Eliminate bad habits that waste time and learn to avoid distractions.

·       Use the 80/20 rule that states that “80% of your accomplishments come from only

·       20% of your efforts.” Figure out what makes that 20% so productive.

·       Make and use standard operating procedures, including designing a productive  work space.

How can we connect this book to IB schedule Time management is one of the biggest key in studies, as we know it already, This book tells us about more in time management in a business manner. You need to try to connect the point from a student of IB board. This book have ample amount of tips for students to manage their time and doing their all work in quite efficiently with ease. Some of the tips are really good that you might like them to apply in your daily schedule of being in IB broad students. If, you really want to see a good growth in your academics then definitely this book would really help you to assist.

 

My personal experience (results)  - I follow the advice given in this book . I tried to apply the tip in my daily schedule slowly but staidly, the improvement had been coming out in 2 weeks. I developed many good habits in my to do list that helps as an assistance in my academics. Some examples are making a physical to do list on daily basis, keeping my book shelf, locker, cupboard, etc. in arranged manner. At first you would feel challenging to do it but if you maintain then it would be beneficial for you.

 

Strengths – this book contains 8 chapter. Each chapter is interesting and have some or types of advice to increase productivity, waste less time, etc. Easy tips and tricks at end of subtopics which can be really helpful. Book have provide the real life examples as a support statement to their facts provided in book. Each chapter plays an important role in managing time the different ways. It is more trustable because the author of book have a good amount of experience in his career.

 

Weakness – as we know that everything thing has its weakness. So, here we go by weakness of this book. This book was published 15-17 years back. It has provide some advice which people commonly know. There is practical limitation for applying some of its advice as an IB Student.

Recommendation – As a current IBDP student, I can find this book is worth for managing the time. If, you follow short tips and trick of this book then you would see that your stress level with your academics is reduce and you can do more thing in less time . You can get this from online ecommerce like amazon, flip kart, etc. second option is that you can get it from the school library
